Search for a Korean matchmaking service in the US, and you'll notice there aren't actually that many real options.

For Koreans living in the US who want to meet other Koreans, distance is a real practical obstacle — so finding someone with compatible criteria on paper simply isn't enough.

Running Neorang, this is the question we've thought about the most.

How do we build a matchmaking service that people in the US actually need?

Today we want to talk about why members who use Neorang leave such good reviews, and what sets us apart from other matchmaking services.

We started in the US to focus on Koreans in the US

Neorang is a matchmaking service built primarily for Koreans living in the US.

We're not a Korea-based matchmaker with a handful of US members registered on the side — we build our service around Koreans who actually live and date in the US.

Neorang is operated by JS Match LLC, a company formally registered in the United States.

Even within one country, the US covers enormous distances — New York to LA, Seattle to Texas.

So at Neorang, we don't just look at age, occupation, and education. We also factor in where someone currently lives, whether they're open to long distance, whether they might relocate, and their broader life background in the US.

That's exactly why we focus on a single market — the US — instead of spreading ourselves thin.

We believe a matchmaker has to keep bringing in new people

There's one thing we take especially seriously in running Neorang.

A steady stream of new members.

No matter how many members a matchmaker already has, if new people stop joining, the range of people we can actually introduce eventually runs dry.

So at Neorang, we put as much effort into reaching new people as we do into managing our current members.

Beyond our website, we actively run our own Naver blog, Instagram, and Threads.

By continuously talking with Koreans in the US about what kind of relationships they want and what they find difficult, we're building a structure where new people discover Neorang naturally.

There's one thing we take especially seriously in running Neorang.

A list of consultation inquiries coming in through Neorang's KakaoTalk channel

Even though we focus our service on the US specifically, we get new consultation inquiries steadily, every single day.

Talking with people during consultations, we've realized just how many people feel a real shortage of chances to meet other Koreans in the US.

We wanted to build a matchmaker with a younger sensibility

A lot of people still picture matchmaking services as somewhat heavy and formal.

But the way people in their 20s and 30s meet others and find information today has changed a lot.

So rather than sticking to the old playbook, we're trying to build a service that communicates through the channels Koreans in the US actually use, and lets people start a consultation comfortably.

From our social content to our website to how we run consultations, we keep improving based on how members actually respond.

We don't think having a "younger sensibility" just means making the design look nicer.

It means constantly moving so new people can discover Neorang, and responding quickly to what our members tell us.

That's closer to what we think a "young" matchmaker actually looks like.

We don't stop at showing profiles

Bringing in new members matters, but what matters most in the end is the actual introduction.

Neorang isn't a dating app where members scroll through and pick from countless profiles themselves.

Through a consultation, we hear what kind of relationship and partner someone is looking for, and a manager personally finds and introduces the right person.

We also take feedback after the actual meeting seriously.

What someone described as their ideal type during the first consultation and who they actually click with in person can turn out to be surprisingly different.

Rather than stopping after a single introduction, we fold that feedback into the next match — gradually finding a better fit each time. That's how Neorang works.

So Neorang's good reviews keep coming

How many members a matchmaker currently has obviously matters.

But we think it matters just as much which new members keep joining going forward.

That's why Neorang focuses on the US Korean market — continuously meeting new members while personally managing the matches of every existing member.

We're still a growing service, so we're committed to listening to our members and improving quickly.

We're genuinely grateful to everyone who's left us a good review so far, and we'll keep working to be the matchmaker that comes to mind naturally when someone in the US is looking for a serious relationship with another Korean.

If you're looking for a new connection in the US, feel free to reach out to Neorang :)
